Which lake/entry? There are some locations within the BWCA that allow small motors but it's by far the exception. Nevermind, just read the title and realized you weren't talking about the birds. Yes Loon lake motors are allowed up to a certain point, someone can fill in the details.

Yes to permit required from Crane Lake, basically along border. Motors not allowed in Little Loon - not sure of exact line. It's the route to LLC and several outfitters on Canadian side. I'm not an expert on this, just know this is a motorized route.
