Cross Bay entry point in May, with this being a low snow year will this loop be doable early in the season as I have read that it is water level dependent?

The answer is most likely yes. It just depends on how much work it will be. The more water, the fewer beaver dams and portages you will need to do. I have met people that have done it in August during what I would have considered a dry year. It is about attitude and solitude. Less water requires more attitude and will provide more solitude as fewer people are willing to do the work.

They do have some snow up there now. Not as much as usual but still a fair amount. You should be fine. Worst case scenario is you will have a couple extra liftovers. I did this route last May and loved it. Beautiful and remote area.
