I accidentally posted this question on the wrong format so I'll repost it here. Was wondering if anyone knows, how much rain is needed for a fire ban to be lifted?

When I was at VNO this past week before and after my trip pretty much every other group coming and going asked them if the fire ban will get canceled with the rain forecasted this weekend. He said it will take multiple days of rain and the forest service will wait at least another week after that to make sure it doesn’t dry out again.
It was even drier than I thought it was going to be. Especially in the campsite. The poor turtles that invaded camp each night couldn’t lay their eggs because the ground was so hard. Each step we took caused a puff of dirt to fly and vegetation was crunchy and yellow.

I don't think its so much as how much in a day as it is how many days in a row. I think the fire ban is more easily lifted if we have 7 days of light rain over say a 1 day of heavy rain.
I am 43 percent sure of my answer ;)

A widespread ling duration multi day rain and it needs to not dry out soon after.
